Architecture in Nature

My Get Pushed Challenge this week was to take a photo that captured architectural interest in either a building or nature. I chose nature and proceeded to see everything in very different ways. I took crab holes, shells, the roots of interesting trees but finally decided on the interestingly shaped stamen in this bright flower; surely it will inspire someone to create a structure mimicking nature…
The most beautiful purple architecture I've seen

Is it a tibouchina? They are flowering like mad here at the moment.

@onewing Nice one Babs; it totally is - I love how you knew that name. I have to admit to a quick Google search to confirm…I’m committing it to memory now (I hope!)

@wakelys Hi Susan, I enjoyed this challenge, as it slowed me down and made me look at the fine details. I hope this meets the challenge…perhaps its architecture has already inspired some of the rides we see at theme parks 🤔

I didn't realise they had such squiggly filaments (all the better to hook you with). Interesting take on an architectural challenge. I like the way these challenges get us to look at things differently.

Great photo and I’m sure there buildings around where the design was influenced by images in nature.

@walksnaplove I can't take the credit for knowing the name. I took a photo of it a while ago and showed it to a friend of mine as she is very good at identifying flowers and asked her what it was called. She is the bright one, not me. 😊
