Hotwater Beach by yorkshirekiwi

Hotwater Beach

You can't got to the Coromandel, and not take visitors to the famous Hot Water Beach. Within two hours either side of low tide, it is possible to dig into the sand allowing hot water to escape to the surface forming a hot water pool. The water, with a temperature as hot as 64 °C (147 °F), filters up from two underground fissures located close to each other. I think we found the very hot water bit. Too hot to put your feet in, but it was very nice sitting in the opposite side of our dig out
How amazing, great shot.

Why has lady got a black square on her hand - was she holding a forbidden cooked crab? Super to see this - really a unique part of NZ on the coast!

Nicely captured. There is a similar area on Kos Island, heated by the nearby island of Nissyros which has an active volcano
