What a hoot. 6 of us went fishing, but not your normal fishing. Trev's cousin has bought a 400 hectare property that had been neglected for quite a while, and is covered in gorse, lupins, and wild bulls. We took two farm utilities and a trailer to carry our stuff, following a rough track to the private beach. There we fished, but not ordinary surf cast fishing for us, oh no. We had a drone to carry and drop the line out over the surf, and if that wasn't enough we had a kontiki to take out the other line. We did catch some snapper, but probably not enough for the effort put in. But what a hoot. Especially when the vehicle pulling the trailer, had trouble getting back up the hill.
Sounds like a stellar day. I’ve only surf fished once and my fishing buddy Randy waded out to cast and get the lines out for us… the drone and kontiki methods are so interesting!
Well that sounds a very enterprising style of fishing! A lovely fun NZ style day out. I can imagine how it went as we have done the same but of course not with drone or kontiki!!
Wow, that sounds like a very interesting fishing day. Don't think I've seen anyone use the drones around here, but sounds like a good idea. Great shot of the scene.
