The wild turkeys territory is getting smaller due to housing. And today the bottom part of their haunt is flooded and under water. Means they came right up to the house today. This is just a couple jumping the fence, after I came out and chased them.
Poor things…driven out by humans! I saw these in the fields when I first visited NZ. I said to the son ‘ do you catch them to eat.? He said no they are full of worms!! I was thinking free Christmas dinner time!!
@happypat we have a friend who was really into hunting. We had dinner once, where everything was hunted or gathered. The venison salami was delicious, as was the rhubarb dessert. The turkey was bloody awful, stringy and a strange taste . He’d culled some turkeys from someone’s vineyard. They’d been pinching the grapes
