Red Kite

I couldn't resist one last trip back to see the red kites. Unfortunately it was a hot day today, so the kites weren't as active as normal. Still fascinating to watch though.
Its unmistakable with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail. It was saved from national extinction by one of the world's longest-running protection programmes. It has now been successfully re-introduced to England and Scotland
Wonderful

Wonderful capture. We were watching one yesterday soaring above us as we relaxed in the garden after lunch! Safe travels my friend.
