These turrets stood either side of the huge red gates http://365project.org/ziggy77/365-3/2014-08-20 "Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire - one of the views beyond the gates which lead into the courtyard and one of the many entrances into the castle.
In the brochure it states a Castle built for partying and frequented by Cavaliers and noblemen.
This is an interesting color than many of the castles that I've seen. It's a much lighter tan color. I love the spires at the top and the staircase that seems to take one there.
