With autumn coming to a close, and the days getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere, I find it becomes harder to photograph outside. Thus I was thinking of doing some themed shots of the books on my bookshelf. I love looking at the books people own, I feel it gives me a bit of a glimpse into who they are, and I thought others might be interested in doing this.
I plan on this being a very unstructured theme; no specific dates or guidelines, just something to photograph on those days when you have exhausted your other possibilities. I may do several photos in succession, or just a few over time, I haven't decided yet, but the choice is up to you. I thought it would be cool to share the stories of how the books ended up in our possession, especially if there are any particularly special books.
It appears the tag "mybookhelf" is unused, so I plan on using this tag, and if everyone who participates uses it we could keep the photos somewhat organized. Also feel free to share photos here.
(Finally, if anyone has done a theme/challenge like this and there is already a tag in use, please feel free to let me know and I can delete this thread if needed). Thank you everyone!
@harveyzone Thanks, I hadn't realized that, a bit different from what I had in mind, however. Also, I'd say that counts as a bookshelf, however small. :)
I have a separate "to read" pile, otherwise I don't read all my new books and tend to go back to my favourites. Here is one of my pictures of it from last year.
good idea! I actually spent a month (last October) doing something similar but what I did was recreate the cover of books and each day was something different (like favorite book, least favorite, etc).
