Friday Caen Hill Locks

An absolute feat of engineereing this flight of locks down a steep hillside. Took over half an hour to walk up & apparantly can take up to 4 hours by narrow boat. See those clouds? They rained on me on the journey down
Been there on foot, would love to navigate on a narrow boat! Will have to speak to my brother....... Nice shot by the way!

it's a great place; there's a Kingfisher there (just saying) Feat of engineering was the volunteers who got it all working again as well as the original designers

Glad you were able to go to Caen Hill Locks - the longest continuous flight of locks in the country...amazing feat of engineering by John Rennie the elder.
I've walked it, ran it, cycled it, crossed it but never navigated it (too close to home)

Love it here, an amazing sight. Best place to get a picture of all of them is from the bridge at the bottom.
