Tufty by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

Tufty

Went to Poole today to Brownsea Island before it closes for the winter. Went to see the red squiggles, and wasn't disappointed. Many of the Brownsea Island red squirrels have leprosy, but this yong one is healthy at the moment.

I took over 250 shots on the island today, where Baden-Powell founded the Scouting Movement. Many shots were just a tad out of focus, but think this is my money shot.

We were non-plussed about the 27 spoonbills flying in, but the professional nature watchers were extactic!!
Great shot of this cutie and his amazing pose. Interesting that you mention Baden Powell, as I live on Baden Powell Drive 😉

Leprosy in squirrels - how awful! Love this, have only ever seen them in a zoo before.

We're Get Pushed partners this week Jackie so for your challenge how about a panorama but with a subject moving through the shots (for example a jogger or walker or whatever you fancy. Does this appeal? If not, please let me know and I'll devise something else.

Good shot! He's really quite adorable. How can you tell if a squirrel has leprosy? That just sounds so bizarre- but also awful for the poor animal!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond It really was! I wondered if you were the lady stood next to me whose battery ran out just after she took the squirrel photos. We compared pictures briefly! Ah, still amazed we were so near and yet so far! We ought to have a 365 badge to wear so we can spot each other in public places!! 😀😀

@30pics4jackiesdiamond That's amazing!!!!!! I am going to post my squirrel on mine now just for fun in honour of the occasion because we took the same squirrel from the same side of the tree at the same moment! Craziness.

Beautiful, but I didn't know about the leprosy there.
October 22nd, 2018
@jqf it's rife apparently! They can't spread it, but also cannot escape it, as stuck on Brownsea
October 22nd, 2018
So neat that you both met - I imagine that you will now be doing photo trips together!
