Went into garden to get the robin, but it flew away! Other birds I missed today when i didn't have my camera at the harbour include a kingfisher (whoop, whoop I saw it!), a black swan, hoards of flying Canada geese (do they murmerate- certainly looked like it) and He saw a peregrine falcon!
So instead of a bird you have a herb that I'm sure should not be flowering at this time of year.
Three good things
Morning on the water ( even though sub zero temp)
The kingfisher ( of course,)
Planning late Christmas on WhatsApp with kids
Magnificent detail to this is a hairy urban! Fabulous to hear about your other discoveries even if we can’t see them! I join you in your excitement of seeing a Kingfisher. I saw one once on the river without my camera and feel the same way you do
Re your question in the tag - I think the hairy capsule takes up more than his share of interest and upsets the rule of thirds associated with the purples. Maybe? :)
I'm sure that bird have an inbuilt teasing mechanism. They flit around when you don't have a camera, or the right lens, but as soon as you attempt to remedy the situation they take off! That being said, I do like your hairy herb :)
A big part of photography seems to be luck. Being in the right place at the right time - with a camera.
