Lol to the Newton comment - I did know that, he saw religious significance in the number 7, the 7 churches in the New Testament and Revelation, so your stand amuses me.
But there are 7 colours in the rainbow, aren't there? Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain.......Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet.......or am I mad? Probably! Fun idea to do rainbows on Sundays.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I read that........my hubby thinks there are six but I still side with people who see a darker purple in there alongside the violet. Controversial to the last! Colour is such a subjective thing in the first place, hard to see for sure how anyone could actually be precise about it.
Lights blue touch paper.......retires.......
@casablanca it's arbitrary - we could choose different points - so different shades of yellow, chartreuse, mustard, sunshine yellow, rather than just one. Newton just chose to split them into seven.
@casablanca@anniesue@shannejw@merrelyn physicists V romantics!!?? There's something about a rainbow, like a daffodil or sunset, got to smile and grab a photo!!!
And interesting subject that I was unaware of until you posted it. Thanks for the link. I do like the idea of you using rainbow on Sunday. It seems in some ways to tie it all together better
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Too true! Rainbows are my favourite things in nature. Over 100 colours visible on the spectrum really, so I will let you have your six........I will carry on enjoying my seven LOL!!
