Yesterday I took RAW low-key photos and on the camera LCD they looked nicely dark.
When uploaded to editting program PhotoScapeX they were so disappointingly grey and bright. On Windows 10 they are beautifully dark and on Affinity quite dark.
I'm very confused!
This is more what I was aiming for yesterday, and I played the levels and sharpness in Affinity
o boy... I would be confused to. At the moment I am only able to slide some slides back and fort.
Whatever you did, this ended up gorgeous, nice and dark, just enough light to keep looking it over again.
Very hard to learn from something that gives inconsistent results. I thought yesterday’s image was terrific with good lighting and nice details. This one is so dark I can hardly see it. Don’t know what to say about that.
They are a bit too dark to see on my computer screen. I have noticed that often a dark photo is darker when I upload it to this site. The curve and side lighting seem nice.
Photo processing has so many variables. Software, monitor, printers, etc. It's truly difficult to get consistent results with so many different "players"!

What was the histogram like? Did you have full black on it and it was on the left side?
