Scoop out pith and pips, put in muslin, chop peel
(Go down road to borrow preserving pan)
Dissolve sugar over gentle heat
Rolling boil for an hour!
Test wrinkle setting point
Squeeze out last of pith's pectin ( I broke my spoon!)
Taste test ( Delicious!!)
Jar and label ( Only made 7!)
We have a cheats route on that when we make ours. We use jam sugar and Certo for the pectin and chop and juice the oranges in a juicer. We love making homemade marmalade but found the pips snd muslin such a faff!! Comes out lovely. Well done making it - the taste is far superior than shop bought IMHO ❤️
I just finished reading the recipe and it does sound like a lot of work but I know it is delicious too! Love the storytelling collage! I can’t decide whether to cook or paint today!
I like the collage as you recounted your steps in the making of marmalade. I'll bet it turned out delicious. In retrospect, I believe I'll just keep buying it. If I never make it I won't know how much better it could be than store bought.
Ok, I'm your get-pushed partner this week. In the US, Tuesday, Feb 2, is Groundhog day. Here's a bit of information about the day from Wikipedia.
What is Groundhog Day about?
It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees its shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks; but if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness, spring will arrive early.
Show me whether you will have 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring arrival.
@shutterbug49 I'll probably gift some

Well that marmalade is delicious! Not too sweet, leaves a slight taste of fresh bitterness after being eaten. I might do more next year!!!
@momamo 😁
@will_wooderson just learn jam making last year, must get a proper pan
@happysnaps I will do it again!!
