Mary challenged me "to make a picture with a "vintage" (50's or earlier) quality." I raided my parents basement where I found this old Peter Pan Record Player circa 1951. Then my mother mentioned that she had found two USO recordings she had received from an old boyfriend during WWII. The USO had over 350 recording booths where your voice was cut into a wax on paper record, which could then be sent home. We didn't try to play these records, but I can't help but feel there's a voice from the past waiting to be heard. Edited in Lightroom and then Analog Efex to give the photograph a vintage look.
Mary @mcsiegle My first response to your challenge. I have another idea, but I'll have to see if it comes about. This was so cool! I had no idea the soldiers from WWII could send recordings home.
wow! I had no idea they could record their messages - hearing them would be something else indeed. Beautifully done and thank you for the narrative too
