A CME strike arrived early and the sky lit up with auroras. The colors are what the camera sees. To the naked eye there is just a greenish brightness in the north, with hints of red above. The storm was not forecast to be seen this far south, and there were no waves or dancing lights, but it's fun anytime the northern sky brightens at night.
(I did have to look up “CME strike” though as we have no such beautiful thing here.)
