In honour (note the British spelling) of the Queen's Jubilee. I got the tea pot in London and the bone china tea cup was given to me when I was a child. The English breakfast tea was a gift from my daughter. She's as crazy about the royal family as I am!
A lovely display, Allison! I'm a big fan of royalty, too and black is the only way to drink coffee or tea IMHO. It would be wonderful to be part of the festivities but I'll have to resort to watching it all on TV. Enjoy your tea time!
@bruni Thanks, Bruni. I use the teapot all the time but the cup not so much. When I sipped my tea from it, the delicate handle and rim greatly enhanced the experience. I plan on using the cup more often. I actually had a set of 4 cups and saucers of different flower designs but the shelf supports failed one day and the shelf came crashing down. This was the only cup that remained whole. Very sad.
@allie912 Yes that would be sad..it is such a nice treasure and yes we shoud use them and not like me as well I have them behind glass but really never much look at them..now I'm not a tea drinker and maybe that's why. thank your for your nice explanation and the tea pot.
What a marvelous representation of tea time with our British friends! I noted what you said to Bruni about using that tea cup...I'm of the same mind. One day I began to wonder what I was saving it all for and isn't it a sweet way to pass an hour, indulging ones self!
Lovely composition, reminds me of my mother-in-law who was born and grew up in Wales. She would have loved a spot of tea and all the goings on for the Jubilee.
