Dragonfly Down! by allie912

Dragonfly Down!

I wish the sidewalk hadn't been so textured so you could really see the beauty of the dragonfly's wings. I was waling across campus yesterday when I looked down at what I thought was a dead dragonfly. He was pitched at an angle with his front flat on the concrete and his posterior up in the area. When I gave him a little nudge, he started to flap around. After taking a few pictures, I gently lifted him and placed him on the shady grass. He probably didn't survive, but I didn't want to be the one who caused his demise.
Oh poor dragonfly

So sad! Maybe the cool shade revived him!

You can now add Dragonfly Rescuer to your list of credentials! I think I might have done that too. Poor fellow!

Awww ...maybe he just got overheated. And putting him in the cooler area revived him! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :) Beautiful capture.

Oh, poor thing. They have VERY short lives. I keep hearing they live only a few hours, but that must not be true...I watch them on our dock fly around all day...
