Parents Night in the Lower School means for one evening the library turns into a book store. We display all our new books (over 600) and parents can select a book (or several) to donate in their child's honor. The child gets to be the first to check it out and we get enough money for a second book order later in the year. It requires lots of preparation and a very long day. (I got home at 9 PM) but it is worth it for several reasons. The school benefits from the generosity of the parents, and the kids love being the first to check out "their" book. We are so lucky that this is a school that truly values books.
