A Bed & Breakfast on Mackinac Island

We went to Mackinac Island for a day while we were in Michigan. It was an amazingly idyllic, glorious place. Almost creepily perfect. The island hasn't allowed cars since 1898 and is traveled only by bike, horse and feet. We opted to walk. This didn't work so well for the kids who whined and crabbed much of the day and all had to be carried or ride in the stroller at times. Next time I go back, I want it to be for a romantic vacation, no kids allowed. We can bike leisurely around the island, sit in adirondack chairs and lounge on the beach, sip drinks at sunset and have whine free fun. Can't wait for that trip!

Oh and I almost got hit by a lady on a bike as I stopped to take a photo in a road. I profusely apologized knowing that I was wrong to stop there (without looking) and she snipped back at me that I was in her way. Sheesh, maybe not such a perfect place after all.
That's beautiful... I would love to check that place out. :3

@paign Oh lady, it was so amazing to see. Flowers everywhere. So perfect! Except for all of the bikes almost running you down:).

@deeganp Thanks so much, sweet Pea. I loved it there!

@jodimuli I suppose I should, too. Dummy stopping in a road for a photo. But sheesh, after I apologized it should have been AOK, right?

@psychographer Thanks, Lisa. I couldn't pick so I chose both:)!

@gerry It was so picturesque there. Thanks, Gerry!

@megmills Thanks so much, my friend. Looking forward to hanging out soon!

@tonydebont Oh my...it was wonderful...minus the kids and the crazy bikers! Thanks, Tony!

Cool collage, Amanda. Love how you focused on the flowers and let the buildings go blurry a bit. Nicely done. Sounds like a fun place for you and your husband. You will run into all types, guess this woman that hit you was not in a great mood or maybe just the way she is.

@darsphotos Luckily it was an almost hit. I probably flustered the heck out of her. Oh well. Not intentional. And so glad it ended well.

@kwind Can't wait for the day. Thanks, lady!

Sounds like quite the adventure. It's always nice to get away without the children, you love them but need peace of mind once and while. I can't get mine to leave home at 30 and 33 LOL. I love them but having your space is nice too.
