a Mirro cookbook (Mirro is an aluminum cookware company started in Wisconsin in 1909) gifted to my mother, probably about 1955. Cookbook is in poor condition; I like the old fashioned handwritten inscription. Not sure I quite got the effect I wanted here. 1subject/30days April

This is just so special. I love to see old books with hand written inscriptions in them. They tell such a story. I have 4 special books like this - A book of Robert Burns poetry, given to my grandad for Christmas 1937, from my granny, dad and his sister. A book 'Lorna Doone' signed by my aunt (no date), and previously owned by someone else. A book (The Missionary Magazine for 1800) owned and signed by my great grandfather and handed down to his son Alexander in 1867. And finally, the most precious for me, a book gifted to my grandparents by Lady Cowdray on the occasion of their wedding in 1927. This type of thing is just SO special.
Nice one
