For some people shopping is the best form of therapy for what bothers you. Personally I can't stand it. Maybe this has to do with the fact that I spent several years working retail in a men's clothing store.
However, everyday I make my way through three downtown malls going to and from work. They are all connected together so it is like being in one huge mall.
This is the first of the three. Named Commerce Place it is home to a number of the higher end stores and other establishments in the area.
I do love the glass windows up top and I really enjoy stopping here at Starbucks to get my early morning white hot chocolate on the way to work
I would love the open and airy feel of those arched windows. It's nice you can walk through the malls and stay out of the weather when it's not as sunny as it was when you shot this. Nice shot!
i very rarely go shopping, maybe once a year to a mall, if that. this one looks very nice - i really like the ceiling. it must be nice to walk through there on a winter day instead of being outside in the slush.
nice pov of this mall - but I hate them, hate shopping and would prefer we didn't have them as a temple to consumerism (we're currently in a debate about what happens to a number of sites in town)
Nice view of the shopping centre. Sad how they look the same the world over though - at first I thought this was our local shopping centre! I like to wander around them, but I'm not good at the actual shopping part...
My name is Brenda and I'm a shopholic! NOT necessarily buying things as browsing, day dreaming, people watching---talking to strangers! LOL! BUT it doesn't cure everything, sometimes it gives me a case of the spendies and that's never good.
I love to shop when in Canada because of those malls, although I am not a great shopper either, it makes it so much easier in all weather. Nice pov here, love the roof.
this is very nice. the ceiling is almost similar to the eaton's centre here. but i like this mall better, it's more cozy. i get dizzy in big malls, i can't go shopping anymore. if i have to shop, i have to know what i need and where i should go. unlike when i was young, i could cruise malls all day and never get tired. great shot, brian.
I love the POV in this photo. The arched windows at the top make it so bright and light. What a neat way to get to work every day. I'm with you though about shopping in malls. Yucky! Little boutiques shops are much more fun and you feel less like a number.
You could have a lot of fun using that glass roof in your photos; rain, snow, sun, differing angles, lines, lighting, etc. You could spend all day on that roof alone!
shortly Monica started a discussion about shopping mails and how similar they are all over the world. Great shot. love love the glass windows up top too
