I was walking through Victoria Park once again and this time I took a shot of the Cricket Grounds. In a few short weeks the teams will be out playing. The Stone Marker was erected in 1931 in honor of Col. CY Weaver who was a local politician who had a love for the game. The brown building is the club house.
In a couple of months I will try to get back there and get some shots of some of the games
Cricket dates back to 1882 here in Edmonton when the Edmonton Cricket Club was formed
In world cricket news Australia defeated the West Indies overnight by 3 wickets in Barbados in a game they should never had won. Look forward to your game shots Brian.
Yes will be looking forward to the games photos: great shot of the hugh sky-scrapers in the background, guess I did not realize just how big Edmonton, Alberta really is...........
What a great shot. I have never seen cricket being played. Maybe you can take a photo of some playing the game or just give a general idea when you go to play.
I`ve found you city on Google maps. Just NE of Washington State where I`ve been in the past. Seem to be a big city to me when I look to the buildings. Nice statue. Crickect isn`t a well know sport in our country . I`m looking forward to you pic of it
@christiehicks There is a plaque on the other side of the marker with the info on the gentleman it was honouring. I don't really understand cricket either but I am sure I have enough people following me that will enjoy a shot or two of the games
@cindyrez Glad you like it. The skyline is along the Promenade where Melody and I do a lot of walking and what has been featured on my project on a few occasions
