One of the reasons why we took the route we did was because of this particular landmark. This is touted as the "Worlds Largest Tomahawk" It is located in Cut Knife Saskatchewan. I had seen pictures of it but I had never seen it in person. So I thought It would be nice to stop and see it. It is located on the grounds of a Historical Village Museum. That was not open but the little side trip was worth seeing this and getting a picture
What a crazy "largest" landmark - very cool! We have a big pineapple (closed down), banana, prawn (closed down), merino sheep (relocated), oyster, etc. All built in the 1970's when people drove around a lot with caravans.
I love taking the backroads through Alberta and Saskatchewan. There are some interesting sights. I had not seen this one before! Thanks for taking us on the tour.
Very interesting and what a great reason to take a side-trip. Who thinks of these things? It's so unusual, that's the appeal. Lucky the light held out for you to capture this piece of artwork!
