Centre High by bkbinthecity

Centre High

So today was another very busy day so I decided that it would be a nice day to use one of the alternative words. So I have gone with the word school and took a shot of this school the other day. This is Centre High on the Boardwalk. It is a school for older students who are trying to catch up on some studies. It is located in the Old Boardwalk building. I really do love the entrance to the building
Does have a nice entrance

Quite intimidating when you're entering this school. Would that have been designed in that way on purpose?

@claireuk It was built for students who had finished high school but needed to upgrade or complete some courses they did not get while in school. they chose this building as at the time it was sitting empty and had so much room that it semed to fit the bill for the school

@sparkle It is interesting to see how they managed to incorporate the school into a building that was built in the early 1900's
January 29th, 2013

January 29th, 2013
@hjv Not sure whey they built the entrance the way they did
January 29th, 2013
@sabanford Because the building was this huge is the reason they chose to use this building to put the school into it

@titam We can all learn that is so true
January 29th, 2013
@tonydebont It really is a very cool building. The section on the left was originally the Revelion Building built by Revelion Furriers. On the far right was a warehouse known as Ross Brothers Hardware and at some point the buildings were joined together and thus provided a great space to put a schoo into
January 29th, 2013
@eudora It is a wonderful entrance for sure
January 29th, 2013
@olivetreeann Unfortuately you cannot gain entrance into the building unless you are a student
January 29th, 2013
@blincodave Thanks Dave
January 29th, 2013
you are right, it is a beautiful entrance to learning. i hope they don't convert this into a commercial building only because it has a big potential to be so. wonderful shot, brian.
