It all started here

Going through Those old photos I came across this postcard. This is Central Pentecostal Tabernacle. This is the church that I was dedicated in as a baby. A couple of years later Melody was also dedicated here as a baby by the same pastor. This building seated 1000 people. Interestingly enough from 1989-1993 Melody and I found ourselves back here as the Bible College we attended used this building as part of its facility. Sadly today the building is no longer standing. It was sold and the new owners plans to build condos fell through and today there is a big empty lot
You and Mel were meant to meet! How cool is that! Sorry about the church...lots of interesting lines!

So sad! But the memories are far more important than the building and thankfully you have this post card to keep them alive. How special that you both grew up in this church!

Interesting story Brian. It gives a little insight to you and Melody :)

Sad to hear the building is no longer there. I really like your story of yours and Melody's history with it. Thank you for sharing it.

Looks like a modern painting - nice shot!

What a great story! Sad about the building. Our old church almost was replaced with townhouses. Eventually, the neighborhood won out and a new church bought it.

Looks very modern.

Very striking building -- I'll bet it was really forward-thinking and modern for it's time. And it's such a nice story, Brian, about your connection to is as well as Melody's. So sorry the building is no longer there.

Awesome shot

Very intriguing design on the building. It actually looks as though it could be a newer construction today. If it had capacity for 1000 people, they surely could have used it for something other than a spot for more condos????

Sweet memories for both you and Melody, saddness for the Lord

A super building with personal importance for you. Fav

A trip down memory lane here!

A great memory jerker. Nice one.

Interesting story. It's sadly reminiscent of my husband and my story. Only in our case, we planted a church which we pastored for twenty years. Then passed it on to another pastor six years ago as we switched careers. The church since lost 80% of its members. :(

This is a lovely piece of architecture - so sad that it has been demolished.

What a nice building. Shame they are changing it. But they can't take away all your memories.
March 13th, 2014
What a shame it is gone....did you and Melody then know each other from extreme youth?
March 13th, 2014
What a nice memory even though gone.
