Today's word is medical because of World Health Day. I thought it would be a a great chance to honour everyone who works in the medical field. This is a picture of my Mom in her nurses uniform when she graduated in 1958. She gave up her nursing when my sister was born and she was always there for us as we grew up. Later on when we were all old enough to take care of ourselves she took some refresher courses and returned to nursing. She continued in this field until her retirement..
Thanks Mom for taking care of us and so many other people
I was just saying to my friend Judy (who was also a nurse before she retired) that I believe nurses know more about the patient than the doctors do. Great shot to have- look how pleased she is- as she should be!!
Great old photo and nice tribute to your mom. My mother was a nurse, too, until she got married. She didn't understand why nurses stopped wearing their caps because she was so proud of hers.
She must have been a great nurse, this lovely shot has such a sweet feel about it. Must be her smile. Beautiful tribute to your mother and nurses in general.
It's not until one is in the medical cycle that you can truly appreciate the gift these nurses have. Mine have been angels, just like I'm sure your mum was too. Bless them all. 😊
