Today's word was military so I decided that I would stop off at the cemetery across from where I work to take some shots. I get there and get out of the car and turn on the camera only to discover that the batteries are dead. So I make a quick trip to a nearby store to buy two AA batteries. I discover that they only sell multi-packs with a minimum of 10 per pack.
I did not need that many and then I find I actually had a spare set in the jacket of my coat.
So it is back to cemetery. As I was getting near I was suddenly distracted and missed the entrance so I then had to take a few minutes to drive around again to get back to the entrance.
So I get back in and get some shots. Then it was off to Melody's parents place for a family evening with her brother and his wife before they leave tomorrow.
We had a nice evening and then on the way home we realize that we left the camera at her parents. So tonight I am posting an old shot of the Military Field of Honour at the Edmonton Cemetery. I took this shot a couple of summers ago. Have a great weekend every one
And, except for this, it was a great day!! Right!?? I laughed. I guess we all have days like this. Fortunately, they don't happen too often, hopefully. Funny!! Nice photo, thought, even if it wasn't what you were hoping to get today. NOTE: We are leaving Sunday morning for two weeks in Norway. I will catch up with days I will miss while gone when we return. Hopefully! Because five days after we return we'll be in the RV ad heading to Alberta. Looking forward to meeting you and Melody. Will keep you posted. At Pine Lake 7/18 - 8/8. Probably Edmonton right after that.....
@aglennc Well Anita the rest of the day was a good one. Enjoy Norway. We are looking forward to meeting you as well. Melody tried sending you a second message with our cell phone number. I was wondering if you received that one?
@bkbinthecity Yes, we did get it and thank you! Taking our pooch over for his "day camp" boarding this afternoon (boo hoo! on his and our parts!! We'll miss him!) and shuttle to airport picking us up at (yawn) 3:45 a.m. tomorrow morning!!
A beautiful and moving picture. The stones remind me of those I've seen in pictures of Dutch war cemeteries for the Canadian soldiers who helped to liberate them. Hope you had a nice time in the evening after a day of little things going wrong!
All that back and forth and you still managed to capture the perfect light. Love the long shadows from the gravestones. Adds to the poignance of the image:) (And hi!!!)
@bkbinthecity my battery loses its charge unless than one day if I'm on a trip and then I have no replacements so I have to find a place to plug in. Which bites when I am camping
