Continuing with pictures from the Victoria Day Holiday. We took Melody's parents for a ride on the High Level Bridge Streetcar. The picture in the centre is Streetcar No. 33. This car was manufactured by the St Louis Streetcar Co. in 1912. It served as part of the Edmonton Radial Railway Co. for many years. The archive photo is on board the streetcar and shows this actual streetcar in use on Jasper Avenue back in its prime. The top left shot was taken as we were waiting for the ride to begin. The top right I took during the ride. I love the smiles on there faces. Melody's Dad said it reminded him of growing up in Amsterdam and riding streetcars there. The bottom left shows Melody's Mom ringing the bell to signal to the driver that he could start driving.
Today we took a day trip and of course a whole lot of pictures. Now it is time to get a good nights rest as I am back to work tomorrow
@mittens Well this streetcar only runs on weekends. It runs from Old Strathcona on the southside across the river and to the Legislature grounds and back again
