For those of you who have been following my project for awhile you know the interest I have in historic buildings. While we were on a historic walking tour we came across the Peace Park.
The arch is from the original entrance to the Rohl Block, later renamed the Strathcona Block, built in 1909. The building was demolished in the 1980's and the arch was preserved. It was placed here in the Peace Park in 1992.
The bottom left hand picture is the peace grove. 12 Elm Trees planted on the 125th Birthday of Canada in honor of all of the men and women who have played a role in Canada's peacekeeping efforts over the years.
The skyline shot was taken from the Peace Park.
Have a great week everyone
