Extra Extra Read all About It

Today is National Newspaper Carrier Day. When I heard this it brought back a lot of memories for me. I was a carrier for the Edmonton Journal when I was in high school. This goes back to the days when the paper was an evening paper.
So after work I stopped by the Edmonton Journal Building downtown. The original building was torn down a number of years ago. However, they did preserve a small section of the original building. The bottom two shots show a portion of the building as well as one of the elevators. These are located inside the glass window portion of the new building
What a lovely nod to this carrier of daily news and for the memory of your own childhood!

Edmonton is very clever in the way it preserves its past as it moves forward into the future. Nice capture and story.
