Title borrowed from @sporenmaken. The parks this morning were strewn with twigs and small branches and puddles glittered in the lovely sunshine. Storm Dudley was troublesome yesterday although for us it amounted to a rather moderately gusty evening. Friday's Storm Eunice however is another beast. Amber alert in place with warnings not to travel. So of course I'm fretting about bits falling off the flat. All hands wary as @berelaxed would say.
Didn't seem to get much done and I was still trying to clear emails gone 6. Jennifer, Katie and I the intern were in so we went to Ma La Sichuan for a feast of dumplings at lunchtime. Quite busy in there, nice to see some normality. And I the intern brought in chocolate biscuits he'd baked. Almost like old times. And then I compounded it all by having fish and chips for supper.
Bathroom - they were going in today to board up the walls in preparation for plastering tomorrow. Hope the storm doesn't stop him from getting there.
3 good things
1. Nice to be with colleagues in the office - actually learned something i wouldn't have done if Jennie hadn't been sitting next to me. And we compared notes on being anxious.
2. The revival of the Westminster Lunch Club.
3. The clear bright mornings you get after rain with everything glittering and shiny.
Lovely if watery stormy view! The grass is so lovely & green this year despite it being winter. We were blown about last night, I think all the front pages he’d Blackpool wave on the front but hoping we are just on the top edge of Eunice so might be spared a little!
Also all of this delicious food you got to eat today has me hungry! I would love to see some pictures of those dumplings ❤️
