The fourth plinth by busylady

The fourth plinth

I didn't have time to take any photos yesterday so here's one from my day in London last month. It shows the 4 metre high bronze statue of a boy on a rocking horse. It stands on the famous 4th plinth in Trafalgar square which was originally intended for an equestrian sculpture. However, it stood empty for some time and it was decided to have a competition for artists to exhibit their work. This statue was designed by two Scandinavian artists and will remain there for a year. It is said to celebrate the heroism of growing up.
Great perspective - though I'm not sure about the subject!
