Our last morning was clear, bright and very cold,so we walked to town to see this beautiful old wooden church in the centre of Kiruna. The town is known for it's iron mine which is why the town has grown up there. At present there is a large area underneath the town which contains large quantities of iron ore. The town is to be moved to a new site and the old town will be allowed to sink into the area being mined. Thankfully the church is to be deconstructed and re-constructed on its new site along with other historic buildings. Families will receive compensation for loss of houses and business. Thank you all for your amazing response with many new follows and fav's, to our magical holiday. I may have to slip in a few more photos which didn't make it on the day!
