Waterlogged

I went down to the allotment today to see if anything could be done after all the rain we've had recently. This is the dirt road which runs round the whole site and it's very waterlogged. The nearby river is very high but I noticed that someone has constructed a sturdy seat on the riverbank. It doesn't look as if the site has flooded this year as there are no tell-tale signs, but the soil is still too wet for digging or planting anything yet.
Nice reflections but produce may be late this year

Everywhere is waterlogged at the moment!! A walk with the dogs at the country park was very muddy and flooded in places. Where is the sun?

Not much gardening to be done yet then Judith. Frustrating when the soil begins to dry out then down comes the rain again. Harry's potatoes are through today, should have put that a a good thing but only just remembered!

Everything is going to be late this year, we have had such a cold winter here too. Nice shot showing all the water logging

Muddy puddles everywhere. Hopefully it'll dry up soon ready for planting.

I think this is a scene that's repeated over much of the country

Ooh dear Judith -- it looks more like going to the paddy field rather than to going to the allotment ! It can only get better (I hope !! )

Gosh this is awful and I am sorry that you can’t get anything planted. I was lucky to get my potatoes in last week because we have got quite sandy soil so it has not become waterlogged
