We had a short drive to this pretty village today and then walked along the lane to the ford. The river was up to 2.5 feet on the marker post, so not nearly as high as Christmas Eve when it was over 6 feet! This is the village green showing the village sign. The grey at the bottom of the picture is the road, not the river!
That’s a smart house but they must have been trapped! Hope you didn’t get too much last night - I worry because although we’re high up for Cambridge (32 ft or something!) our house is downhill from the road and the drive is lower than next door’s so we can end up with a lot of water running towards the front door. I have been glad that I spent an hour with my arm down the drain in October pulling out handfuls of gravel and silt (Nigel’s arm is too fat to fit but I was quite grumpy about it!)
I’m so pleased I picked crochet up again, it’s a little addictive and if you like bags look on Pinterest and in Etsy for crochet bags, there’s some beauties out there!
