Remembering the past

Peter spotted this bottle of Chianti in Lidl last week and it sparked memories of when we used to use the empty bottle as a candle holder. The wax used to drip down the sides of the bottle time after time and was left to add character! Does anyone else remember doing this?

Yup, absolutely! I guess at times it was messy, but I loved it, I may like to start this up again it certainly build character all those drippings. You picked out a beautiful bottle! can't wait for a follow up shots in a few weeks. Oh and cheers :)

I remember seeing them in restaurants, back in the day I hadn't discovered the joys of a beautiful glass of wine ! Was the Lidl Chianti any good, I can recommend Lidl carménère from Chile (nice bottles too with animals on them)

I definitely remember the bottle as candle holder with all the different colored waxes building up over time. Your image is a beautiful still life and homage to the wine bottle!
