We had a less hectic day today and visited the Maritime Museum in Picton. They have preserved this wooden sailing ship built in Calcutta in 1853. It is the last surviving ship used to transport convicts to Australia, and the oldest surviving ship that brought immigrants to New Zealand. The museum told a fascinating story of how the ship has been preserved after it's sailing days were over. We walked down into the hull and could also visit the dry dock.
It must have been a very interesting visit. Nice shot.
