Another from Bradgate Park. The river runs through one edge of the park, though I think it is only a small tributary, because it’s more the size of a stream. The rocks that litter the park & some that you can see here in the water, are volcanic. Not far away is a place called Beacon Hill, which thousands of years ago was a volcano & these rocks were spewed out from it at one time. In more recent history it was used as its name suggests for beacons to alert towns of danger or invasion.
