@onewing it is Babs. I am guessing that when they go to Greece March/April time for PDA ( public display authority), that it’s happen then. They are going to Waddington, but will still practice over Scampton airspace. So won’t get any shots like this, no take off & landings unless I go to Waddington, but the actual display should still be ok.
I dread to think what will happen to the land, big housing estates perhaps. End of an era & a great shame really! But I think every year there are discussions about the financial viability of the Red Arrows & they seem to survive…..
@carole_sandford quite sad end off an era. Scampton was our first posting 52 years ago. Vulcans there then though. The Red Arrows used to come to Valley regularly when we were there and to Akrotiri too. Hope they survive
@onewing I think they still have connections with Valley. When we lived in Cyprus they used to come to Akrotiri. But I don’t think that has been the case for a number of years.
I'd surely love to be on board of one of those one day.
I heard from an ex RAF friend that Scampton is closing next year, is that right?
