Another Lincoln photo today. This is Lincoln High street, though it is now pedestrianised, traffic many years ago used to travel along this road. I have even seen an old picture which shows a bus coming through the arch of the Stone Bow. The Stone Bow was a Guild Hall / Civic building at one time. Many an assignation has been sealed with a meeting under the Stone Bow clock!
The chap in dark clothing on the left was a street singer & rather a " high brow" one at that. He was singing things like " Bring him Home" from Les Miserables, " Funiculi Funicular" & "Nessun Dorma" etc. So in essence a typical City weekend scene.
Lovely shot, surpising that busses travelled that narrow road.

A lovely street scene, I love Lincoln, so historic. The young ones with the phones appear to be taking photos of you rather than the posh singer!

It looks very busy, so many people. There used to be a great hardware shop just down on the right of this picture many many years ago. Probably long gone now though.

@ludwigsdiana thank you Diana, it probably looks a bit narrower than it actually is, but it was a two way road.

@onewing hardware shop long gone I would say. It's mainly clothes shops & card shops in the area you are indicating. I'm sure you would notice a lot of changes Babs.
