The Old & The New

A miserable grey & sometimes rainy day, so another from Liverpool. In this one, the Royal Liver Building which was completed in 1911 is bisected by an ultra modern, glass & steel building. You can see that Liver building has two Liver Birds. The locals say that the one on the left , which looks out to sea is female & is looking for the sailors. The one looking inland is male & is looking to see if the pub is open!
What a difference a hundred or so years makes eh? I know which I prefer!
Thank you for comments & favs for yesterday’s photos.
Fab (see what I did there?) pov

This would have made a great half and half too with a slight crop:)

I have not been to Liverpool. I think I should

I know which building I prefer too. I know architects couldn't improve on the Liver Building, but you would think that they could come up with something more interesting than the glass box.

What an odd contrast - sure made an eye-catching photo.

Good catch- it's so odd looking- like they sliced away some of the older building and inserted the modern one down the middle.

Certainly an interesting shot, although I do not care for the glass box.

I think I'd opt for going to the pub with a sailor and get the best of both worlds!!

Fabulous image! Perfectly composed! I had to look up "Liver Birds" and read all about them online. Quite interesting! :-)
