Orange Fire by carole_sandford

Orange Fire

Today’s photo should have been fireworks! Phil & I were supposed to go to a display at Belvoir Castle, but it was postponed for a couple of weeks, due to the weather. We have had rain & howling winds today, so I guess it could have been quite dangerous! No real chance of anything new, so, this one from last weeks visit to Gunby. I never remember what these are called & I often struggle to get a decent capture of them, but I was pleased with this one.
Lovely

Crocosmia I believe - flaming petals instead of fireworks!

Lovely shot of these fiery looking flowers - a nice compromise to your failed visit to see fireworks fireworks !! Known these days as Crocosmia , but I prefer their old name Montbretia - the name was changed in thee 1990s (Or so we were told by NAFAS - flower club association ! )
