Historic Water Tower by carole_sandford

Historic Water Tower

In this instance wearing a colourful facade. It was lit up for the Christmas Market & made quite a spectacle.
This holds a huge steel tank & built around 1911, as one of the first attempts to give Lincoln a clean water supply & eradicating the plague of typhoid which affected the city. It still supplies clean water to some areas of “up hill” Lincoln today.
It was quite magical lit up like that.

What a great idea! We often comment on the beauty of water corporation buildings, but this wins all the prizes.
