The inside of my ring (which was close to 100 years old when Thomas Patrick Donohoue III put it on my finger) is inscribed 6.6.81 Tom & Cathy. 31 years ago this 26 year old guy married a 30 year old woman with two young sons. Gutsy, wasn't he? I'm still sort of surprised that he married me. I kept telling him I will never live through "this" again or we will never make "that" mistake. And he still went through with it. Gutsy.
He loved and raised those two young boys to be fine young men. He has loved me through all of the bumps in the road (and in hindsight, that is what they are - all of the things that you think are major are only bumps when you have someone to go over them with) that happen to two people - and I have loved him. We have a grandson that we adore, a grown granddaughter that came to us through marriage that we love dearly, a great grandson that Papa is over the moon about (GiGi, too) and one to be here any minute. We also have another set of boys that have come into our family this past year that we are becoming quite wild about. And I can't forget the women that love our sons.
We laugh together, have fun together and when we have to, we cry together. We've built a life - together. I still love him like crazy. I'm still in love with him - and he with me. You can't ask for more in this world - except at least another 31 years to love him.
Aw, I'm a sucker for a good love story (don't tell the guys). Sounds like you found yourself a good man. Tell what you should do, tonight slip on that sexy saloon gal dress and [whisper, whisper, whisper]. You got that?

@cdonohoue we share a wedding anniversary, and almost the same year! My husband and I are celebrating 32 today - teenage sweethearts. Congrats to you - what a wonderful love story you shared.
