This looks like an old collection because a lot of it is. My great aunt decided to give her collection to my Dad - why is a family mystery. I'm pretty sure he never would have said that he liked them. He just wasn't a cup and saucer kind of guy.
She had collected them for years. What makes them a little different is that a few of them say "Made in Occupied Japan." Japan was occupied from 1945 - 1952. That makes some of them fairly old and on the rare side. This hangs in my dining room. I am thinking of boxing them up and printing one of my photos.....
That's a pretty impressive collection. I enjoyed the story behind it, especially the historic significance behind some of the items. Did you ever have them appraised? You might be surprised by what they are worth.
Some of these look unique! On their bottoms you can generally see who made them and of what! That's the cups bottoms not anyone else's! I'm glad you don't have earthquakes!
My grandmother had a collection too and when she died, my mother made sure that every grand child got to pick out a set...and then the other siblings divided the rest up. Some of them were very valuable, but to me the real value is the sentimental value.
If you are not attached to them...then you should change them out for one of YOUR pieces of work!!! : )
That is an amazing collection. I love the different designs, shapes and colors. I think I'm in love with the set with the dragonflies! A great shot of the beautiful display.
Your aunt probably thought your dad would hand them down to you & looks like he did! Beautiful cups & saucers & they might be worth more than you think! Afternoon tea with proper tiered cake plates, small sandwiches with the crusts cut off, & cup cakes are all the thing here so your china is just perfect!
That's a great collection and you've captured it beautifully. I love the colours and the dividing lines. Such a shame to pack them away but I bet your pic would be just as nice and easier to keep clean!
That is quite the collection! And if you think these are a pain to keep clean, you can imagine how hard it is to keep my collection of miniature tea sets clean! I recognize a few of your little tea cups, actually!
Very interesting collection with some unique samples. I collect different things, and I wonder where are they going to end up, or who to pass them to... LOL. Maybe a garage sale :(

(I collected some lovely china plates but have never had the dresser to display them in!)
