It rained - not just enough to wet the windshield - real raindrops that have made me, the grass and most especially the garden really happy. I needed this. I lost a little focus here with traveling over the weekend. I had been doing so well with my shots every day and paying attention to what I was doing. I only took the point and shoot to Indianapolis as my main job was to help the kids with whatever was needed. Chief confidant (to both of them) and Super Grandmother and playmate to Garrett. But the point and shoot feels like cheating now. I don't take the shot - the little camera does. Today I got to get back in my wheelhouse with my macro lens and the drop shots. I think I took a million shots just enjoying the lens and the happy plants. And yet, I wanted something a little different from the flowers - those will go on Facebook. So I walked until I found the Crepe Myrtle. I am in love with these after a trip to South Carolina several years ago. I brought this variety back with me as it isn't supposed to do as well in our zone. It is growing into a tree. It sits between my house and the guys next door so is a little sheltered. Go ahead and view this one large and see if it makes you as happy as I am right now. I needed to refocus - in more ways than one!
It has beautiful tones and the drop is great. I'll have to try my new gadget on the drops - plenty more due tomorrow and the we are finally promised some sunshine - looks like we are finally swapping weather patterns!
Very nice macro of this bloom. I love the reflections in the water drop. I have been missing you in my page, did you remove me from your list? Did I say something wrong? :(
