Yes, it really is that color. I took this shot this morning. I was just out in the yard with the dogs and it is amazing how it has changed in the last six hours. It isn't quite as soft or vibrant. The heat of the day - and it is 90 something again in the city - has changed it.
Maybe it is just me. I seem to be focused on endings right now after two things that I did yesterday. In the afternoon I attended a memorial service. The woman had lived a long life - 90 something years. Last night we took some pizza and went to an outdoor concert of my all time favorite summer fun band. The lead singer changes outfits all during songs - last night he had on a drum major's hat and his striped underwear But they weren't as good as they used to be.
Flowers fade, bands ride high and then the songs just don't sound quite the same and we lose folks along the way.
It's just one of those kind of days. So I am going to fix it the best way that I know how. We are going to Ashley's tonight to play with the great grandsons! Bright and shiny new life.

Sorry to hear that you are down in the doldrums Cathy!! Sometimes life sneaks up behind us and smacks us on the back of our head. We need to keep focused on the One who holds the future!

We had such a great time last night playing with a 2 1/2 year old and holding 8week old baby Mason. I took my camera with me and didn't take one shot. I didn't want to be "watching" the fun I wanted to be "in" on it. I wanted Aiden to be just what he was- begging GiGi and Papa to play one more time.

I think one of the appeals of photography is capturing moments and the realisation that everything is transient. Nothing lasts forever.
