Nifty Fifty (Actually almost eight year old Maggie)

Actually, she isn't - and neither am I!
I finally bought the new lens. I have been toying with the idea after seeing the shots on here that a lot of you are doing. I was having so much fun last week that I lost a lens cap. When I finally stopped to order one I made the plunge for a mere $104 dollars. So I put it on the camera and didn't even get Maggie to pose. I love the clarity and it is all it is cracked up to be in low light as it is really overcast here today.
this is a lovely photo of Maggie love the way she is looking direct at the Camera fav.

@gerry Thanks Gerry. I can never miss with her as a subject.
@yonnie It is light as a feather. I thought the box was empty when it arrived. I think I'm going to really like it once I give it a try.

Yes ... beautiful clarity and lighting, Cathy. Love the focus on him .. it's perfect. Did you get a primary (fixed) lens or one with some range. Does it go from f/1.8mm- ?? I never know if I'd like a primary lens with no range or would like one. Tell me more if you have time!

Beautiful shot. Which lens did you get?

Oh I see its called a nifty fifty.......doh....

Whoohoo! You won't want to take it off! It's a great winter lens because of its speed.

To buy a nifty fifty is on my list of things to do this week, I tried to last week, completed my order on line and it finished up in cyber space never to be seen again. I love this picture extremely sharp and Maggie looks beautiful.

I also admire these good shots, however my camera doesn't have interchangeable lens so I have to take dozens of shots in different light and almost always use a tripod. I can see the clarity and depth here with Maggies face! Try it on a persons face!

@karenann Is is a primary fixed. It is time I learned to do this. I have a wide angle, telephoto and macro in my bag and switch often. I really want to have a basic lens for indoors in low light that I can just grab. So far I am really happy for the comparably small amount of money.

Have you bought a 50mm lens Cathy as I have been toying with getting one of those as my first extra lens? Lovely portrait of Maggie & enjoy your new lens!
