Believe me, this shot is just a reminder to self.
Today is the day that I read the directions. Not on the shot - on how to put the tripod together.......The one that I had was pull the legs out and go. This light weight one is another animal. Took me forever to figure out how the fancy ball thing went on the tripod. I had to find the handy little "key" thing hidden in the bottom of the box and take out a screw. Why was the screw there? I'm keeping it until Tom gets home because maybe he can figure out what I need it for. Then I had to figure out how to put the bottom thingie on my camera - also different than the old one. Can you tell I don't do change very well. I am so in awe of all of you with your crown shots - will have to read how to do that (and what do I need to get that I don't have......), so I settled today for my first shot of water from the sink. Guess I should have gotten the Comet out before I took the shot but I was having too much fun playing with my toys.
Hahaa - glad it's not just me! I had a great easy to use tripod until my son lost a vital part of it. Now I have a very expensive one donated by my dad and it falls over - all the time. I have to hold it up - that's not the point of a tripod.
I'm so with you here, hate new stuff, everything takes so long to set up and a manual if you have one is like a paperback novel.............anyway brill drops of water, looking forward to seeing the crown!!!
Good capture of the water droplets. I'm with you on the tripod. I was about to go buy a new one so it I would have the piece that attaches to the camera when I discovered that I already had it...I just didn't know what to do with the piece.
Incredibly difficult to get a crown. Persistence is the key I think and getting your focus right. It took me ages and hundreds of shots. It's a long time since I've done one and I probably wouldn't be able to now! Good luck, this is a good start :o) xx

A new tripod is on my Christmas list. :)
And you and I speak the same language--thingie and all ; )
If you've never seen it, Gavin Hoey did a great little video about water shots. It's a very good introduction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwExpFDUC9Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
