Thanks for all of your comments and responses to my beach questions. We take off around 8am for Maui - pretty long flight for us - about 16hrs. with lay over in Texas. I'm excited, a little apprehensive - as I am not the best flyer. We are both so looking forward to this trip. We have big plans - a lot that revolve around my camera. We are taking the Road to Hana, sunrise at the volcano park, a whale spotting trip and sunsets wherever we happen to be. I hope to use your hints to bring some worthy shots back to share with all of you. I will have my iPad so maybe some commenting but no computer access until we get to the Ritz - where all of the Terminix festivities start on Wednesday. See you all in a couple of weeks.

Re:Road to Hana...we took that road and even went the 'whole way around' (where you're NOT supposed to go...especially in a rent a car). I wouldn't recommend it, as there are signs warning you not to. But I will say...it WAS an adventure. The road is VERY tight in some places. Barely room for 1 car. The scenery is beautiful though. Have fun!! Aloha

Hope you are having a wonderful time in Maui. Please count the curves on the road to Hana. Think of me if you go to a beach in Hana with black sand (actually little rocks...) Enjoy every moment.
